Capacitive Level Switch
Capacitive level switch is sensors with an electrical contact output at a specific liquid, powder, or bulk level. Their traditional use is for non-metallic materials such as: plastics industry, chemical industry, wood industry, ceramic and glass industry, and packing industry. A few models are maintenance free.
Working Principle: When material touches the electrode, the level switch detects existence of material and gives an output signal through a relay. The electrode can be installed in any orientation horizontal or vertical.
The switch captures the electrical difference between empty and full of material to detect the level. When material is empty, resistance status of detecting electrode and grounding electrode will infinite, and capacitance will be specific.
When the material is applied into a vessel, the electrode is filled (full), resistance value and capacitance value between detecting electrode and grounding electrode will get change. The switch captures this change and gives the digital outputs.
